News Topical, Digital Desk : A major step has been taken to rid the capital Delhi of the pollution and waste problems. The first "Green Waste Plant" has been opened near ITO in Delhi. This plant will scientifically dispose of dead branches, leaves, and garden waste. The government believes that this initiative will not only strengthen Delhi's sanitation system but will also significantly reduce air pollution.
Inaugurating the plant, Delhi's Public Works Department (PWD) Minister, Pravesh Verma, stated that the government is continuously working to fulfill its promise of a "developed Delhi" to Delhiites. He stated that the plant, which has been inaugurated near ITO, is an important step in this direction. With this, a total of six green waste plants constructed by the PWD are now fully completed.
No more waste, it will now become a 'resource'
Minister Pravesh Verma explained that until now, waste from trees and horticulture was either left lying in the open or burned in many places, contributing to smoke and pollution. Especially during the winter season , this burning further polluted the air. However, in this new green waste plant, machines will process this waste and convert it into fertilizer, biofuel, and other useful products. This will transform waste from a problem to a resource.
You will get relief from mountains of garbage!
Delhi has long grappled with a massive garbage problem, with massive mountains of rubbish forming in areas like Ghazipur, Bhalswa, and Okhla. In response, the government is now emphasizing waste segregation and scientific disposal. Establishing green waste plants is an important part of this comprehensive plan.
Steps towards a clean and green Delhi
Minister Pravesh Verma, describing this as just the beginning, said that more such plants will be installed throughout Delhi in the future. The government's goal is to make Delhi an example of cleanliness and green development. This initiative is expected to bring about a major change in environmental protection.
