News Topical, Digital Desk : Dhananjay Kumar, alias Mrinal Paswan, Chairman of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes Commission, inspected the Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday. During the inspection, he met and inquired about the well-being of SC/ST patients injured in the violence that occurred in Harinagar village, under the Kusheshwarsthan police station area.
The president inquired from the hospital superintendent and doctors about the treatment of the injured. Patients reported being attacked for demanding their pending wages, leaving them terrified. Family members also raised serious complaints about having to pay for medicines, not being able to find beds, poor quality food, and not getting meals on time.
During the inspection, the Chairman visited the DMCH's male and female wards, emergency departments, and other departments. He interacted directly with patients to assess the status of medication, sanitation, and food arrangements and directed the concerned officials to make immediate improvements.

Chairman of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission, Dhananjay Kumar, also known as Mrinal Paswan, stated clearly that patients from the SC/ST community have a right to better facilities in government hospitals. He directed that the injured should not be discharged hastily and that the seriously injured girl's leg should continue to be treated until a rod is inserted. He also warned of action if negligence is found.
So far 12 accused have been arrested in this case.
The station in-charge informed that 12 accused have been arrested so far, while others are absconding. The chairman directed immediate arrests, increased patrolling in the area, and security for the victims. The victims' families were assured compensation within 1-2 days.
'Providing justice to the victims is the priority of the Commission'
Chairman Mrinal Paswan stated that strict action will be taken against anti-social elements who escalate a minor dispute into a riot. He personally visited the site at the direction of MP Chirag Paswan and the Bihar government. He stated that providing justice to the victims is the Commission's priority. Following the inspection, he held a review meeting with the hospital administration and directed them to improve arrangements.
