New Delhi: A three-match ODI series was recently concluded between India and Sri Lanka. The Indian team lost a bilateral ODI series to Sri Lanka after 27 years. Sri Lanka defeated Team India 2-0 in the three-match series at home. However, the Indian team continues to hold the top spot in the ODI team rankings.
On the other hand, Indian captain Rohit Sharma got the benefit of better batting on the Sri Lanka tour while star batsman Virat Kohli lost one place. Indian team's left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav made a big jump of five places in the ICC ODI bowling rankings.
India retains its crown
Talking about the ICC ODI team rankings, the Indian team occupies the top position. The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma has 118 points. The Australian team occupies the second position with 116 points. South Africa has 112 points and is at number three. Pakistan is at number four with 106 points. The New Zealand team completes the top-5 rankings.
Kohli suffered a loss
If we look at the ICC ODI batting rankings, Pakistan's Babar Azam is at number 1. India's opener Shubman Gill is at the second position with 782 points. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has gained one position to reach the third position. Hitman has 763 points.
Rohit Sharma pushed Virat Kohli one place. Virat Kohli is in fourth place with 752 points. Ireland's Harry Tector completes the top-5 list with 746 points.
Two Indians included in top-5 bowlers
If we look at the ICC ODI bowling rankings, we find that South Africa's experienced spinner Keshav Maharaj is at the top position with 716 points. Australia's Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa are at the second and third positions respectively.
India's wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav jumped five places to reach fourth position. India's pacer Mohammed Siraj completed the top-5 list.
