New Delhi: Indian team captain Rohit Sharma has confirmed before the Test series starting against Bangladesh that the host team will follow a rotation policy for its fast bowlers. The first Test between India and Bangladesh will be played in Chennai from Thursday.
Rohit Sharma said that the Indian team will follow the strategy adopted against England at the beginning of the year, where it gave a break to key fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj for one Test each. It is known that India had announced the squad for the first Test against Bangladesh.
It is expected that either Jasprit Bumrah or Mohammed Siraj can be rested before the Test series against New Zealand. The Indian team has to play 10 Tests before the final of the World Test Championship 2025. The Indian team will tour Australia in November for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where it will participate in a 5-match Test series.
India has a great pace attack
The Indian team has many capable fast bowlers. Akashdeep, Mukesh Kumar, Yash Dayal and Arshdeep Singh performed well in domestic cricket and the recently concluded Duleep Trophy.
The quality fast bowling of the Indian team was seen on the 2020-21 Australia tour, where the team won with a third-rate team. Then Siraj, T Natarajan and Navdeep Saini emerged as the heroes of the tour.
