News Topical, Digital Desk : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that by the year 1100, the population of Hindus in India was 60 crore, but due to the 'atrocities' of the 'invaders', their number reduced to 30 crore at the time of the country's independence in 1947.

Yogi Adityanath made this claim while addressing a state-level workshop on the theme of Self-Reliant India, Swadeshi Sankalp. He said, "When Islam first attacked India, and even after that, until the year 1100, the Hindu population in the country was 600 million, and when the country gained independence in 1947, the Hindu population had dwindled to only 300 million."

CM Yogi claimed

He also asked, "Should our population have increased or decreased in these 800-900 years? We have come down from 600 million to 300 million." Adityanath also claimed that the "invaders" not only reduced the Hindu population but also reduced agricultural production.

He said, "Hindus were not only killed by invaders, but they died of hunger, disease, and all kinds of torture. This is what foreign slavery is like... The same thing happened to this country."

CM Yogi mentioned India of 300 years ago

However, Adityanath also mentioned India's prosperity 300 years ago, saying, "Don't go too far, 300 years ago, India's contribution to the world economy was 25 percent. India's contribution to the world's total industrial production was 25 percent."

He said that India means today's India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh, which you call Greater India. This means that for 300 years, India was the world's number one economic power. It was the number one producer nation, and in agriculture, India was unmatched.

Raising the slogan of Swadeshi, he attacked his opponents.

Raising the slogan of Swadeshi, the Chief Minister targeted the opponents without naming anyone and said, 'What did India not have, but those who divided in the name of caste, divided in the name of region, divided in the name of language, and even today they are working with the same foreign mentality, dividing the society, those people will point all kinds of fingers at this Swadeshi campaign also.'

Emphasizing the need to embrace indigenous products, he said, "Swadeshi is no longer just a slogan. Swadeshi is no longer limited to khadi fabrics. From needles to ocean-going cargo ships, and from fountain pens to airplanes, the BJP-led government is promoting indigenous production. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has broadened the concept of Swadeshi through this."

Adityanath said, "Any product that is created with the sweat of Indian workers and the talent of India's youth is swadeshi to us. Make in India, Made for the World, means a product made in India that is suitable for the entire world. It is extremely important that we all make swadeshi a part of our lives."
