News Topical, Digital Desk : The global economy is in turmoil after US President Donald Trump imposed hefty fees on H-1B visas. Trump's decision has dealt a significant blow to India in particular. However, while the US is closing its doors to foreign workers, China has decided to open its doors to global talent.

China has decided to introduce the "K Visa" as a counter to Trump's H-1B visa program, which aims to attract young scientists and technology professionals from around the world.

According to the Chinese news agency Xinhua, new rules related to the 'K Visa' will come into effect on October 1st. China already offers 12 types of visas. Now, the 'K Visa' is about to be added to this list.

Features of K Visa

The K visa will be distinct from China's 12 other visas. Those entering China with the K visa will be able to participate in fields such as education, culture, science and technology, and business.

However, China will set certain eligibility criteria for obtaining this visa. The visa holder will also need to submit certain documents. China will only grant K visas to individuals with certain age groups, higher education, qualifications, and experience.

America increased fees on H-1B visa

It should be noted that the US has increased the fee for H-1B visas to $100,000 (approximately 9 million rupees). Most Indians travel to the US on this visa. However, those applying for new H-1B visas will now be required to pay this fee. This rule will not apply to existing visa holders.
