News Topical, Digital Desk : China said on Monday that it had executed four people found guilty of killing six of its citizens and defrauding Myanmar of more than $4 billion. The court announced the executions in a statement on Monday morning, but did not specify when the executions took place.
The executions of 11 other people accused of running scam centers in Myanmar were announced last week. A Shenzhen court in November sentenced five people, including members of the notorious Bai family, to death for running a network of scam centers and casinos.
The court said one of the accused, Bai Suocheng, the group's leader, died of illness after his sentencing. The group had established industrial parks in Myanmar's Kokang region, bordering China, from where they carried out crimes such as extortion and online fraud.
