News Topical, Digital Desk : Police have achieved a major success in Sukma district. Muchaki Manga, a Naxalite carrying a reward of ₹1 lakh, has been arrested from the Konta police station area. Following the Naxalite's information, police recovered a large quantity of explosives and IED material hidden in the forest. According to the police, the arrested Naxalite, Muchaki Manga, son of Muchaki Budhra (24 years), is a resident of Kindrelpad, Bejji police station.
Police in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district have achieved a major success. In a joint operation by the Konta police and the CRPF 218th Battalion, police arrested Muchaki Manga, son of Muchaki Budhra, a Naxalite carrying a reward of ₹1 lakh. The arrested suspect is a resident of Kindrelpad village under the Bejji police station. He had been active as a LOS member under the Konta Area Committee for the past five years.
They were preparing to plant IEDs
According to sources, police received information that Naxalites were preparing to plant an IED on the route of a police party between Uskawaya and Nulkatong. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Sukma, a joint team of the district police and the CRPF laid siege and apprehended the accused.
Revealed during interrogation
During interrogation, Muchaki Manga admitted to being involved in several Naxalite incidents, including planting IEDs on the road in the Banda and Uskavaya areas in February-March 2025 and the murder of Oyami Pandu, a villager from Bhandarpadar, in 2024. Following the information provided by the arrested Naxalite, the police recovered gelatin rods, detonators, gun powder, cordex wire, sharp knives, Naxalite banners and posters, and IED equipment hidden in the forest.
Sent to jail on judicial remand
Police said the accused has several serious crimes registered against him at Konta and Bejji police stations. The arrested Naxalite has been sent to jail on judicial remand. The anti-Naxal campaign is continuing in the district under the direction of senior officers.
