According to popular religious beliefs, Lord Vishnu goes into Yog Nidra in Kshirsagar from Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi to Kartik Shukla Ekadashi. This period is dedicated to penance, meditation and worship. According to mythology, Lord Vishnu lived in the netherworld due to the boon given to King Bali.
