On Maha Ashtami, after bathing in the morning, worship Goddess Mahagauri with the prescribed rituals. Mahagauri loves the color white, so offer her white flowers, coconut, and sweets. Sandhi Puja (a ritualistic worship) is also highly significant on Ashtami. This puja is performed between the last 24 minutes of Ashtami and the first 24 minutes of Navami.
