New Delhi: Unified Payment Internet (UPI) has changed the world of digital payments. Today, QR code scanners are installed at places ranging from paan shops to vegetable carts, with the help of which you can make payments in a jiffy. UPI has now become an important part of the lives of 4 out of every 10 people. In such a situation, it is difficult to imagine what the world of payments would be like without UPI.
Despite this, 75% of people intend to stop using UPI. Actually, there were reports that the government may impose transaction fees on transactions through UPI. This was also discussed in the GST Council meeting. However, the council postponed the decision on this for the next meeting.
Will people stop using UPI?
A survey by LocalCircles revealed many interesting things about UPI. According to the survey, if any charges are levied on UPI transactions, about 75 percent of users will stop using it. The survey also revealed that 38 percent of people are highly dependent on UPI. They do more than 50 percent of their total transactions through UPI. The rest are debit cards, credit cards or other digital means.
How many people took part in the survey
