New Delhi. The price of tomatoes is constantly skyrocketing. In such a situation, NCCF has announced Tomato Price Cut to provide relief to the customers. NCCF has announced the retail sale of tomatoes at Rs 60 per kg. It will start from July 29 at various strategic locations in Delhi and NCR.

Stalls will be set up at these places

It has been said that tomatoes will be retailed at Rs 60 per kg at several places including Krishi Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodhi Colony, Hauz Khas Head Office, Sansad Marg, INA Market, Mandi House, Kailash Colony, ITO, South Extension, Moti Nagar, Dwarka, Noida Sector 14 and Sector 76, Rohini and Gurugram. 

Current market situation

Tomato prices in many areas of Delhi-NCR are currently between Rs 100 and Rs 120 per kg. However, prices are expected to fall next month. Some wholesale traders in the market estimate that prices will continue to rise until tomatoes start arriving from local farms. Last year too, tomato prices had reached Rs 150 to Rs 180 per kg, but it fell in the first week of August.
