News Topical, Digital Desk : An Agniveer jawan was killed and two others were injured in a landmine explosion near the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday (July 25). Agniveer Lalit Kumar was a resident of Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh.

One Agniveer jawan was killed and two others were injured when a landmine exploded during patrolling in the Krishna Ghati area, officials said.

'Blast happened in an old landmine'

The army has denied the TRF angle in this attack. According to the army, this blast took place in an old landline during patrolling in an interior area of Poonch.

Officials said one of the injured is a JCO, who has been admitted to a military hospital and his condition is stable.

In a post on 'X', the White Knight Corps said, "GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks pay tributes to Agniveer Lalit Kumar of 7 Jat Regiment who made the supreme sacrifice in a landmine explosion while patrolling in the area of Krishna Ghati Brigade." It added, "We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief."

LG Manoj Sinha paid tribute

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has paid tribute to Agniveer Lalit Kumar of 7 Jat Regiment, who sacrificed his life while performing his duty.

LG Sinha said, "I pay my heartfelt tribute to Agniveer Lalit Kumar, who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. The nation stands firmly with them in this hour of grief."
