New Delhi :  Today, the 78th Independence Day (Independence Day 2024) is being celebrated with great pomp in the country. There is a holiday in the stock market on the occasion of Independence Day. If you invest in the stock market, then let us tell you that you cannot buy and sell shares today. Bombay Stock Exchange had released the stock market holiday list.

As per the stock market holiday list, there will be no trading in the equity, equity derivatives section and securities lending and borrowing (SLB) segment today.

The market was closed for three days this week.

Trading in the stock market will start tomorrow at the scheduled time i.e. 9.15 am. The 17th and 18th of August are Saturday and Sunday weekly holidays. This means that this is a short business week. Many investors feel that the market will remain closed even on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, but this is not the case.

According to the BSE website, there is no holiday on August 19. The market will open at its scheduled time on this day too.

When will the market remain closed in August

There is no additional holiday in the stock market after August 15. The stock market will be closed only on Saturdays and Sundays.

August 24, 2024 - Saturday

August 25, 2024 - Sunday

August 31, 2024 - Saturday

According to the stock market holiday list, the market will remain closed for only one day in October, November and December.
