News Topical, Digital Desk : In Uttarakhand, action is being taken against religious structures built on illegally occupied government land. In this regard, the district administration bulldozed an illegal shrine in Haridwar. This shrine was built on encroached government land in the Garhmirpur tehsil area of the holy city. The Dhami government has now demolished it with bulldozers. However, no remains were found beneath this illegal structure.
According to reports, the Haridwar district administration issued a notice a month ago regarding the illegal shrine built on land belonging to the Irrigation Department in Suman Nagar. The notice asked the khadims to show land and construction documents. After the deadline, the illegal structure was demolished this morning.
Irrigation department's land was freed from encroachment.
SDM Jitendra Singh, who was present on the occasion, stated that the Khadims had removed their essential belongings themselves before the demolition began. All necessary legal formalities were completed before the Irrigation Department's land was freed from encroachment. He explained that the government is running a campaign to remove encroachments on government land, and this action was taken as part of this campaign. Approximately 10 bighas of land was freed from encroachment during this campaign.
State Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the government is taking necessary steps to preserve the cultural identity of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, especially the Sanatan region of Haridwar. The government is working in this direction and has so far removed 600 illegal structures where fraudulent practices were conducted under the guise of green and blue sheets. A large police force has been deployed to address any potential situation during the encroachment removal.
