The functionary, however, said the party will take a final decision after discussions with its allies in the 'India' alliance. "We have decided to contest the upcoming Bihar elections and (we) are preparing to field candidates on 12 to 15 seats. The final decision on the number of seats will be announced after discussions with our allies in the 'India' alliance," party general secretary and spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey said during a press conference in Ranchi.
Tension may increase for Tejashwi Yadav
Let us tell you that elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly are expected to be held in October-November. Tejashwi Yadav's tension may increase regarding the seat sharing in the Mahagathbandhan. Congress is claiming more than 70 seats while Mukesh Sahni is also talking about 50-60 seats through a statement. Apart from these, there are also left parties. In such a situation, it will have to be seen how many seats JMM gets.
On the other hand, in view of the increasing tension between India and Pakistan, JMM has postponed the state-wide agitation to be held in Jharkhand on Friday for a separate 'Sarna religious code'. Party general secretary and spokesperson Vinod Kumar Pandey said, "We have taken this decision in view of the current situation in the country. The country is our top priority. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the program for the time being and stand firmly with our armed forces."
