News Topical, Digital Desk : Shivaratri is celebrated on the Chaturdashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha. Every month on this Tithi, Devadhidev Mahadev is worshipped and fasting is done with rituals. Monthly Shivaratri of the month of Sawan has great importance as compared to Shivaratri of other months. 

The reason for this is that during this time Bholenath himself not only controls the universe, but also comes to earth with his family. According to Panchang, this time Sawan Shivratri is starting on 23rd July at 4:39 am.  

Due to Udiya Tithi, Shivratri festival will be celebrated on 23rd July. It is believed that by fasting on Sawan Shivratri, all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled by the grace of Bholenath. The problems going on in life come to an end. 

Sawan Shivratri worship time 

Nishit Kaal- from 12.25 pm to 1.08 am. 

First period of worship: from 7:26 pm to 10:6 pm. 

Second phase of puja: from 10:06 pm to 12:46 pm.

Third phase of worship: from 12:46 pm to 3:27 am.  

Fourth period puja – from 3.27 am to 6.07 am on July 24. 

Sawan Shivratri 2025: Jalabhishek 

The first Muhurta of Jalabhishek on the day of Shivratri (Sawan Shivratri 2025 Jalabhishek Muhurat) is from 4.15 am to 4.56 am. The second Muhurta of Jalabhishek will be from 8.32 am to 10.02 am. 

Sawan Shivratri Worship Method 

After taking bath and doing daily chores, wear clean clothes. After this, go to the Shiva temple (Sawan Shivratri 2025 Pujan Vidhi) and do Jalabhishek with water, milk, ghee, honey and other things. During this, chant the Om Namah Shivaya mantra.

Offer Belpatra, Dhatura, flowers, fruits and sweets etc. After this, do the Aarti of Bholenath with incense and lamp. If you wish, you can also recite Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Shiva Panchakshar Srot, Shiva Chalisa, Shivashtakam etc. after this.
