
News Topical, Digital Desk : Devendra Fadnavis: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken several important decisions in a meeting held on Wednesday to develop Asia's largest slum area Dharavi and to improve the living standards of the people here. Dharavi is an important economic center of the country and a vast area of specific industrial clusters.
Keeping this in mind, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave instructions to implement this project by preserving the original concept of Dharavi and giving top priority to the rehabilitation of local artisans and businessmen in the Dharavi Redevelopment Project.
A review meeting of the Dharavi redevelopment project was held at Sahyadri Guest House under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Fadnavis, in which he gave directions to the concerned officials. All senior officials including Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and heads of various agencies were present on this occasion.
Rehabilitation of various businesses given top priority
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that Dharavi will be redeveloped in an environment-sensitive and holistic (integrated) manner. Dharavi's economic activities and business transactions are extremely important. Giving priority to these, rehabilitation of skilled artisans and their various skill-based businesses will be given top priority.
Home to every native
Every native resident here has to be given a house. Every citizen of Dharavi should get justice in the redevelopment project. Every person here will be considered eligible for this project. The eligibility criteria will be different, but every person of Dharavi must get the benefit of rehabilitation, complete care will be taken of this.
As per the prescribed rules, eligible beneficiaries will be provided due space in the development project. The concept of this redevelopment project should be implemented by preserving the original commercial identity of Dharavi and securing its characteristics. For this, the concerned agencies will have to maintain mutual coordination.
