News Topical, Digital Desk : A shocking incident has come to light from Chandrapur district of Maharashtra, where a 19-year-old student, who had scored 99.99 percentile in NEET, committed suicide on the day he was about to leave for admission in a medical college. 

The suicide of a student named Anurag Anil Borkar has shocked everyone. He reportedly left a suicide note stating that he did not want to become a doctor.

He had secured 99.99 percentile in NEET.

Anurag lived with his family in Navagaon, Sindewahi taluka, Chandrapur, and had recently passed the NEET UG 2025 exam with a 99.99 percentile and secured an all-India rank of 1475 in the OBC category. He was preparing to go to Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, for admission.

The student did not want to become a doctor

According to a report published in NDTV, police say Anurag hanged himself at his home before leaving for Gorakhpur. A suicide note was recovered from the scene. While officials have not released the suicide note, sources say the contents have not been released to the media. Police sources said the student mentioned in the note that he did not want to become a doctor.

When the mother looked at her at night, she found her son hanging from a noose.

The student was going to enroll in an MBBS program at a medical college in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, early on Tuesday (23rd). The Borkar family went to bed around 10:30 pm on Monday (22nd) after dinner. Around 2:30 am, when Anurag's mother woke up to use the restroom, she noticed the light in his room was still on. Together, they cut the rope around his neck and brought him down, but he had already died.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Sindewahi police arrived at the scene. After preparing a Panchnama, the police sent the body to the Sindewahi Rural Hospital for a post-mortem. Everyone was shocked by Anurag's drastic step. He was a bright and hardworking student.
