News Topical, Digital Desk : The Bihar results have caused a stir in Uttar Pradesh politics. The MY equation in Bihar has collapsed, and the SP's strategy in Uttar Pradesh has also been shaken. Now, Akhilesh Yadav is making a major bet on the Dalit vote bank. The SP is preparing to demonstrate Dalit strength at the Indira Gandhi Foundation on December 6th. The party has also imposed a strict ban on commenting on upper castes. This means the SP has changed its political direction. The PDA formula remains the same, but the target now is to bring together the entire social equation: Dalits, OBCs, and Forward Classes.

The political earthquake in Bihar is now shaking the ground in Uttar Pradesh. The MY model has cracked in Bihar, and now the Samajwadi Party is "redesigning" its PDA model in Uttar Pradesh. On December 6th, at the Indira Gandhi Foundation, the SP wants to showcase the power of Dalits, and the message is clear: Dalits will no longer be the vote bank of the SP, not the BSP. But at the same time, the SP has quietly made another change, stopping criticism of upper castes. SP leaders have been given clear instructions: put the PDA first, but don't anger the forward community.

SP MLA explained the meaning of PDA

SP MLA Ravidas Mehrotra says P stands for backward, D for Dalit, and A for minorities, half the population, and upper castes. The SP is fighting for justice and respect for all. The Dalit community has left the BSP and is now with the Samajwadi Party. A record number of Dalits will participate on December 6th.

BJP said – SP is now doing a show program

Meanwhile, the opposition sees this SP activity as electoral panic. The BJP is renewing its old accusation of anti-Dalit politics against the SP, claiming that the party is now merely conducting public events for show. BJP MLC Lalji Nirmal says that Akhilesh Yadav should first apologize to the Dalit community. Ambedkar's name was removed, reservations were attacked, so why the sudden love for Dalits? This is just an election stunt. The Dalit community is and will remain angry with him.

Analysts also agree that the message sent by Bihar needs to be understood. Yadavs are a minority in Uttar Pradesh, and any politics that ignores Dalit, OBC, and forward-leaning votes has not been successful. When Mulayam Singh Yadav was in politics, he gave equal respect to Yadavs as well as Brahmin and Thakur leadership.

What did political analysts say?

When Mayawati won a full majority, she kept the Forward Party with her. Congress and the BJP are sticking to the same formula today. Political analyst Yogesh Mishra says Bihar has sent a clear message that MY alone won't suffice. If the SP wants to win in 2027, it must give equal representation to Thakurs and Brahmins. This PDA versus Forward strategy is like shooting oneself in the foot. It's difficult for Dalits and Yadavs to even exist on the same platform.

The message sent by the Bihar results has completely altered the strategy of Uttar Pradesh's largest opposition party. Now, the Samajwadi Party is in the fray with a new incarnation of the PDA, which aims to chart a course for 2027 by centering Dalits, engaging OBCs, and excluding Forward Blocs. But the real test remains; only the December 6th rally will reveal whether the Dalit community is truly moving towards the SP, or whether this entire campaign will remain merely an election exercise.
