Mamdani recently said at an event that after 9/11 , his aunt stopped riding the subway wearing a hijab because she felt intimidated. But now the time has come for us to not hide our identity but to proudly display it. ”

Andrew Cuomo recently appeared on a radio show, where the anchor joked that Mamdani would probably be happy about the next 9/11 . Cuomo initially laughed at this, but his spokesperson later said he disagreed.
