In the same sequence, District Magistrate Medha Rupam conducted a field inspection of the shelters and arrangements made for the affected families and gave necessary instructions to the officers present on the spot.
The District Magistrate visited the shelters
First of all, District Magistrate Medha Rupam visited the shelter home located in Sector-135 under Sadar Tehsil. Here she took stock of the food, housing, sanitation, drinking water, toilets and medical facilities provided for the affected families.
During this time all the arrangements were found to be satisfactory. During the inspection the DM talked to the families staying at the shelter home. The families expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the administration.
DM reached the temporary school
According to the information, on this occasion, the DM also inspected the temporary school run for children in the shelter home. He asked questions to the children and distributed reading material. He also instructed the officials that the education of the children should not be interrupted under any circumstances.
Keeping in mind the needs of women, the DM also distributed sanitary pads and ordered the health department team to conduct regular health checkups and ensure adequate availability of medicines.
Apart from this, the District Magistrate also inspected the temporary cowshed built in Sector-135. He closely observed the arrangements for fodder, water, veterinary care and cleanliness, which were found satisfactory.
DM asked people to go to safe shelters
After the inspection, the District Magistrate also reached Pushta Road, Sector-150. There she motivated the people living in tents in unsafe places to shift to safe shelters built by the administration. She said that food, water, medical facilities and all basic amenities have been fully provided in the shelters.
He also directed the concerned officials to constantly motivate the affected families to relocate to shelters. During the inspection, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Atul Kumar, Sub-District Magistrate Sadar Ashutosh Gupta, Tehsildar Prateek Chauhan, District Supply Department, Health Department, Veterinary Department and other officials were present.
