News Topical, Digital Desk : Mutual funds seem to be getting disillusioned with Adani Group companies. In the month of April, once again mutual funds have reduced their exposure to Adani Group companies. These funds have reduced their share in 7 listed companies of Adani Group. Earlier, in March 2025, exposure was reduced in 4 companies.
The surprising thing is that the exposure has decreased the most in Adani Group's flagship company Adani Enterprises. This figure is Rs 346 crore. After this, the exposure has decreased by Rs 302 crore in Adani Energy Solutions and Rs 241 crore in Ambuja Cements.
In which Adani stock did the share increase?
These mutual funds have reduced their exposure by Rs 124 crore in ACC, Rs 7.7 crore in Adani Ports & SEZ and Rs 3.43 crore in Adani Total Gas. But, mutual funds have increased their share in Adani Power and invested Rs 102 crore. Something similar was seen regarding Adani Group stocks in the month of March. During that time, apart from Adani Green Energy and Adani Enterprises, selling was seen in the rest of the group stocks. Talking about the month of February, mutual funds sold shares worth a total of Rs 321 crore of 8 Adani Group companies. The selling spree in these stocks started from January 2025, when these funds sold shares worth Rs 480 crore.
Why are mutual funds disillusioned? Moneycontrol quoted experts in its report saying that there are many factors behind this trend. First of all, investors are concerned about governance in the Adani Group. Apart from this, there are expensive valuations, regulatory investigations and sector-related risks. Mutual funds with a conservative investment approach are looking at Adani Group companies as a risk. Apart from this, concerns about expensive valuations are also seen behind reducing exposure. There are many companies of Adani Group, whose valuation is higher than other companies in that sector. In a challenging macroeconomic environment, fund managers focus on stocks whose earnings visibility is better and valuation is reasonable.
