News Topical, Digital Desk : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that since 2017, timely recruitment, improved training, and the expansion of modern facilities in the police department have strengthened law and order in the state. As a result, the security environment in Uttar Pradesh has improved and a strong foundation for good governance has been laid.

The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of two modern security buildings constructed for the security of the Gorakhnath Temple area on Thursday. Built at a cost of approximately ₹9.18 crore, these buildings feature state-of-the-art facilities such as the offices of the Additional Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police, a control room, a police store room, and a maintenance workshop.

After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the buildings and took stock of the arrangements. The Chief Minister said that security is a prerequisite for good governance, and providing a safe environment for every citizen is the government's primary responsibility.

He said that previously, police recruitment, training, and infrastructure were neglected, which affected the efficiency of the police force. But now the situation has completely changed.

Now 60 thousand policemen are given training – Yogi

He said that in the year 2017, more than half of the posts in the police force in the state were vacant, but in the last nine years, more than 2 lakh 19 thousand policemen have been recruited.

There has also been a significant increase in training capacity – while earlier around 3,000 policemen were trained at a time, now this number has increased to 60,000.

He also mentioned improvements in housing facilities for police officers. He said that while police officers previously lacked proper housing, they now have better barracks and accommodation in police lines, police stations, and outposts, which has increased both their efficiency and morale.

Now the police are no longer helpless in any situation. The availability of modern facilities in police stations has made it easier to apprehend and stop criminals. Strict action will be taken against anyone who challenges law and order. Mayor Dr. Manglesh Shrivastava, MLC Dr. Dharmendra Singh, MLA Vipin Singh, Sarwan Nishad, ADG Gorakhpur Zone Ashok Jain, along with numerous public representatives and officials were present at the event.
