will not release in India

For the past few days, there have been rumours that Abir Gulaal will be released in India on 26 September. Now, an official tweet has been made by PIB regarding this matter and it has become clear that this film will not be released in India. In this tweet, PIB has also included screenshots of those news reports in which the India release of Abir Gulaal has been discussed.

The Press Information Bureau has said that the news about the release of Abir Gulaal in India is baseless and this claim is completely false till now. This film has not been given permission for release in India.

Earlier, this movie was going to be released in cinemas worldwide on 9 May 2025, but after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, a controversy broke out over this film and due to heavy criticism, it was banned in India. Then on 12 September, Abir Gulaal was released worldwide and news came that it would also be released in India on 26 September. But after PIB fact check, it has become clear that there will still be a complete ban on the India Match film.

Why did the controversy erupt?

Actually, the biggest reason for the controversy over Abir Gulaal was the Pahalgam terrorist attack. On 22 April this year, 26 innocent people were killed by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. After this, the evil face of Pakistan came to the fore and there was opposition to this film, due to which its release was banned. Fawad Khan's controversial statements were also a big reason for this.
