News Topical, Digital Desk : Released in 2009, the film "3 Idiots" was a blockbuster at the time, and even today, youngsters watch it with equal interest. In the film, Aamir Khan's Rancho taught life lessons not only to Raju and Farhan, but to millions of young people. Now, there's a lot of buzz about its sequel. Although no cast or crew member has made an official announcement, the film's lead actors, Aamir Khan and R. Madhavan, have now responded. Let's find out what Aamir and Madhavan had to say about the 3 Idiots sequel.
Will there really be a sequel to 3 Idiots?
According to media reports, Rajkumar Hirani has finalized the script for 3 Idiots 2, and the film will go on floors in 2026. The report also claimed that the sequel will see the return of its iconic cast, including Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi. However, in a recent update, Aamir Khan and R. Madhavan revealed that none of them have been approached for such a project yet.
What did R Madhavan say on the sequel?
When Bollywood Hungama spoke to the film's two lead actors, Aamir and Madhavan confirmed that they hadn't been part of any such discussions. R. Madhavan dismissed the idea of a sequel to the cult film as foolish, saying, "It's nice to hear about a sequel to 3 Idiots. But it also seems far-fetched. All three of us – Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, and I – have grown up a lot now. Where would we go in a sequel? What are our lives like now? It's an interesting thought, but a proper sequel is difficult. I would love to work with Raju Hirani again. But 3 Idiots again? I think that would be foolish."
Will Aamir Khan be a part of the film?
Meanwhile, Aamir shared, "We had a lot of fun making that film! My character, Rancho, is one of the most popular I've ever played. People still talk about Rancho today. So yes, I would love to do a sequel. But no one has approached me."
