Aamir Khan  says Imran Khan wants to be an actor and is a little uncomfortable playing the hero. Talking to The Indian Express about his nephew Imran, the actor said, 'Yes, Imran definitely has a special creative instinct. Because of this, he finds it a little difficult to fit into mainstream Hindi films. Hindi cinema is not a natural place for him.

He further added, ‘When you give him work in films like Jaane Tu and Delhi Belly (2011), he will do commendable work. But if you offer him work in a Hindi film, he will not fit in. He wants to play a real-life person in the film. Well, everyone wanted to sign him for mainstream films because he looks good and is also fit. But he wants to be an actor, not a star.’

Talking about Imran Khan's onscreen debut, he played the childhood role of Aamir Khan in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. After this, he started his career as a lead actor in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na with Genelia D'Souza in the year 2008. These days Imran is preparing for a comeback. Recently he told that a series was being worked on with Prime Video, but it was stopped. Now the actor is looking for a good project.
