The daughter of Safiq, a resident of the Maa Kali Mandir ward, was getting married. His cousin, Mahmood, a resident of Naya Basti in Mughalsarai, Chandauli, had come to attend. The wedding ceremony was still underway at 7 pm on Tuesday.
Mahmood was sitting under a tree near his home when a dry branch suddenly broke and fell on him. He was seriously injured. Chaos ensued at the scene, and his family rushed him to the Ramkola Community Health Center. After first aid, seeing his serious condition, the doctors referred him to the district hospital, but he died on the way.
