News Topical, Digital Desk : On Monday, a new figure emerged in the case of kidney buying and selling and illegal kidney transplants: Ajay, a ward boy at LLR Hospital, who is an associate of broker Shivam Agarwal.
He had used his phone to arrange for the woman's admission to MediLife Hospital for a kidney transplant. Later, after the transplant, her condition deteriorated and she died while undergoing treatment in Delhi.
On Monday, the police filed a petition in court seeking a seven-day custody remand and recording of the broker's statement. The court granted permission to record the broker's statement in jail on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Meerut-based car driver Parvez Saifi, a key suspect in the kidney scandal, was also jailed for two and a half years on robbery charges. Saifi revealed that the OT manager, Ali, is a drug addict and administers drug injections. The woman underwent a kidney transplant in December 2025 at MediLife Hospital in Keshavpuram, which was sealed by the CMO eight months earlier.
However, hospital operators Narendra and Rohan told the police that they had closed the hospital due to losses. Ajay, a ward boy at LLR Hospital, contacted Shivam to admit the woman, posing as a guard. Ajay claimed to be a doctor.
In 2022, he opened his Star Hospital, where Narendra from Auraiya and Rohan from Kannauj worked for a year. Illegal abortions were also performed there. The health department investigated several times but took no action. The hospital was later closed.
Ajay explained that Shivam is an ambulance driver and contacted him while traveling to and from LLR Hospital. After questioning, the police issued a notice and released Ajay.
DCP West SM Qasim Abidi said that after broker Shivam's statement and remand, the entire network and the accused will be exposed. Shivam and Prayagraj broker Naveen Pandey have answers to many questions related to the kidney transplant racket. Kidney seller Ayush stayed in Kalyanpur for seven days, while the buyer, Parul Tomar, her husband Vikas, and brother Divyank stayed in Kalyanpur for 15 days.
