News Topical, Digital Desk : Nearly a year after the coup in Bangladesh, a revelation has emerged that may surprise you. In fact, a book titled 'Inshallah Bangladesh: The Story of an Unfinished Revolution', published after the coup in Bangladesh, reveals how a phone call from India saved Sheikh Hasina's life and helped her escape from Bangladesh.

This book, written by Deep Halder, Jaydeep Mazumdar, and Sahidul Hasan Khokan, is being published by Juggernaut and will be available soon. The book claims that on August 5, 2024, youth protests in Bangladesh escalated into a violent one. That day, then-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was inside the Ganabhaban in Dhaka at around 1:30 p.m.

When the Indian official called...

Meanwhile, she received a call from a top Indian official. It is claimed that Sheikh Hasina already knew this official well. Minutes after receiving the call, Sheikh Hasina decided to leave Bangladesh. The book claims that this decision saved her from facing the same fate as her father.

When Sheikh Hasina refused to leave the country...

The book states that that day will always be remembered in Bangladesh's history. The crowd was already less than two kilometers from the Ganabhaban. It was certain that the crowd's next target would be the Prime Minister's residence, the Raj Bhavan. Seeing the situation worsen, Bangladesh's military chief, Army General Walker-uz-Zama, along with the heads of the Air Force and Navy, repeatedly urged Sheikh Hasina to leave the scene, but she refused.

Sheikh Hasina refused to listen to her sister.

The book claims that her sister, Sheikh Rehana, and her son, Sajeeb Wajed, who live in the United States, also urged Hasina to leave, but they were unable to persuade her. The book states that she (Sheikh Hasina) would rather die than flee her country.

Meanwhile, a call came into the Ganabhaban. The author says the brief call was from a top Indian official. The official told Sheikh Hasina that it was too late and that if she did not leave the Ganabhaban immediately, she would be killed. The official also told Hasina that she should stay alive to fight another battle. The book states that she was taken aback by the call and struggled with the decision for half an hour.

Sheikh Hasina could not even record her farewell speech

However, before leaving the Raj Bhavan, Sheikh Hasina asked to record a farewell speech to the people of Bangladesh, but her security officials refused this request. The officials feared that the crowd could storm the Raj Bhavan at any moment. Sheikh Rehana then reportedly drove her sister to the helipad in a car.

It is reported that a helicopter took off from Raj Bhavan at around 2:30 pm and landed at the Jangaon Air Base 12 minutes later. A C-170J cargo aircraft then took off from there at 2:42 pm and entered Indian airspace over Malda about 20 minutes later.

Later that evening, a plane landed at Hindon Airbase near Delhi. India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval was waiting for Sheikh Hasina there, who received her and took her to a secret location.
