In today's era, diabetes is spreading rapidly. People of all classes, young and old, are suffering from diabetes. Be it urban areas or rural areas, diabetes cases are increasing rapidly everywhere. Changes in lifestyle, irregular working hours, stress and habits like junk food are increasing the cases of diabetes.
Dr. Akash Shah, Consultant Pathologist, Neuberg Diagnostic says that it is very important to identify diabetes in time. Because not identifying the disease has a bad effect on the health of the person. Diabetes can cause many problems like heart diseases, kidney damage, loss of eyesight. Even limbs may have to be amputated. Diabetes is a disease in which the blood sugar level becomes high, which over time causes serious damage to the heart, eyes, kidneys.
There are two types of diabetes
The most common of these is type 2 diabetes , which is especially seen in the young generation. In this, the body is unable to produce enough insulin. On the other hand, if we talk about type 1 diabetes, then it is a serious condition in which the body is unable to produce insulin on its own and it can be treated only with insulin injections.
Make sure to get diabetes test done every year
If we want to save the new generation from diabetes, then it is most important to change the lifestyle and behavior. Due to lack of physical activities in childhood, obesity increases rapidly which can later cause diabetes. Along with this, junk food is also a big concern. Dr. Akash says that people above the age of 30 should definitely get tested for diabetes twice a year. So that the disease can be detected in the beginning itself.
