Lord Vishnu has taken his fifth incarnation as Lord Vaman. But do you know why Lord Vishnu took the incarnation of Lord Vaman (Vamana Avatar Ki Katha)? If you do not know, then let us tell you in detail about the story related to it.
Story of Vamana Avatar (Vaman Avatar Katha)
According to mythology, in Satyug, Lord Vishnu, who is called the protector of the world, took the fifth incarnation as Vaman. Lord Vaman was the son of sage Kashyap and Aditi. Once in Satyug, the wrath of King Bali was increasing and he had captured Indra's Devlok. In such a situation, Shri Hari took the Vaman incarnation to give Indra control over Devlok and to end the pride of King Bali.
After this, Lord Vaman took the form of a Brahmin and went to Bali, son of Virochana and grandson of Prahlad. Lord Vaman asked for 3 steps of land from King Bali. At the same time, Guru Shukracharya refused to give 3 steps of land to King Bali. But King Bali did not follow the words of Guru Shukracharya and promised to give 3 steps of land to Lord Vaman.
After this, Lord Vamana assumed a huge form and measured the entire earth in the first step and Devlok in the second. However, he did not have any land left for the third step, so King Bali offered his head in front of Lord Vamana for the third step.
Seeing this act of King Bali, Lord Vaman was very pleased and he decided to give the netherworld to Bali. In this way, Lord Vaman brought back the Devlok to the Gods and Goddesses and freed them from the fear of Bali.
Apart from this, another reason for asking for 3 steps of land was that King Bali was performing Ashwamedha Yagya and after the completion of the Yagya, he would have captured Indra's throne. This is why Lord Vaman asked for 3 steps of land.
