Salman Khan's film Sikandar was released in theatres on the occasion of Eid on March 30. Despite making a good collection in advance booking, the film received mixed response from the audience. Even Salman Khan's fans are giving bad reviews about it. Most of the audience is criticizing Salman Khan for this.
However, if you have seen this film, you will definitely be able to make a distinction. Rashmika Mandana is more responsible for the failure of this film than Salman Khan or bad direction.
Rashmika got lost in her character
Rashmika Mandanna played the role of Rani Sasri Rajkot, Salman's wife in Sikandar. Her role in the film is not very big and even after seeing her, it seems as if she is just present in the film. There was a great lack of depth and acting in her character.
At a time when cinema is showing strong female leads like Sehmat Khan (Alia Bhatt) in Raazi, Piku (Deepika Padukone) in Piku and Aarfa (Anushka Sharma) in Sultan, Rashmika's presence on the screen is just like a well-dressed woman standing in front of her, who is not at all in her character. Rashmika's character was important in the story but instead she was reduced to a mere background actor.
Rashmika's character is absolutely flat on screen
There were many scenes in the film where her character had to be sensible but she just stood there silently. In this situation, how long will Salman Khan's character be able to handle the situation by staying on screen. In many scenes, there was no expression on Rashmika's face, she was just staring blankly at the camera. The same problem was seen with her in Chhava as well. Perhaps it would not be wrong to say that Rashmika was the weakest link in both these films.
She had a similar reaction in Animal as well. Do you remember her fight scene with Ranbir? A lot of memes were also made on social media about this. At present, if Rashmika is facing such a problem due to language, then she needs to work on it because she is getting a lot of roles in Bollywood.
