New Delhi: Weekly box office collection: The fate of stars is decided every week. One week is enough to know whether they will pass or fail the box office test. Last week too, a fierce battle was seen between three big films at the box office.
On one hand, on October 10, Thalaivaa Rajinikanth came with his film 'Vettaiyan', on the other hand, on the very next day, a fierce clash will be seen at the box office between Rajkumar Rao and Alia Bhatt's movie 'Jigra' and Vicky Vidya's that video.
The results of the first week of all three films have come out. Which film created havoc at the box office and which movie did not get any audience in the theatres, let's see the figures of all-
Vettaiyan's magic worked in a week
Rajinikanth has a huge audience in South as well as Hindi. His style is amazing in every film. Something similar has been seen in Vettaiyan as well. The magic of this film released on 10 October is working wonders on the audience. It has been just eight days since the movie hit the theatres and the film has crossed the 100 crore mark at the domestic box office in no time.
The movie has so far collected a total of 122.15 crores at the domestic box office, while worldwide the movie has made a double century with 215.6 crores. The action thriller film has collected 105.07 crores in Tamil language, 13.58 crores in Telugu, 3.2 crores in Hindi and three lakhs in Kannada.
How was that video of Vicky-Vidya?
A day after Vettaiyan, Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri starrer 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' hit the theatres. As soon as this film was released, it had a great opening of 5.5 crores, leaving behind 'Jigra'. Rajkumar Rao, who returned as 'Vicky' after 'Stree-2', made people roll with laughter with his dialogues.
This film has so far collected 27 crores in India and 37 crores worldwide in Hindi. The pace at which the movie is running, it is expected that by the second weekend the movie will cross 50 crores at the domestic box office.
Alia's 'Jigra' got suppressed between both the films
Alia Bhatt's jigra is getting very heavy due to the mess with Vetteyan and Vicky Vidya's video, because this film is struggling for every penny at the box office. With the completion of one week, this film has barely managed to collect 22.45 crores at the domestic box office. The total earnings of the movie in Hindi is 22.24 crores, while the collection of the film in Telugu has reached only 21 lakhs.
Currently, the film which has an upper hand in the first week is Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan's pan India release 'Vettaiyan'. Seeing the way Jigra is moving at a snail's pace at the box office, it seems that the movie may soon be removed from the theatres.
