Amavasya will end on 1 November, so there is no possibility of worshipping Laxmi on this day. For this reason, Diwali will be celebrated on 31 October.

The country's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), decides the bank holidays. Generally, the weekly holiday of the bank is Sunday and the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Apart from this, banks are also closed due to regional festivals. RBI releases the bank holiday list every month.

According to the bank holiday list released by RBI-

On the occasion of Diwali on October 31, banks in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Kanpur, Jaipur, Kochi, Kohima, Lucknow, Kolkata, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed.

There is a bank holiday in Agartala, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gangtok, Imphal, Jammu, Mumbai, Nagpur, Shillong, Srinagar on 1 November 2024 due to Diwali Amavasya.

On November 2, on the occasion of Diwali or Bali Pratipada, there is a holiday in the banks of Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jaipur, Kanpur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Lucknow.

Banks across the country will remain closed on November 3 due to Bhai Dooj and Sunday.
