Canadian police have arrested three Indians for the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in June 2023. It is being claimed that these three are associated with the Bishnoi gang.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed the arrest of these three Indians at an event of the Sikh Foundation of Canada in Ontario, saying that Canada is a law-abiding country. After the murder of Nijjar, people of the Sikh community living in Canada were feeling unsafe. Here every person has the fundamental right to be safe from discrimination and violence.

Trudeau also said that the investigation into the Nijjar murder case is not limited to the arrest of only three Indians. Investigation is ongoing.

Who are the three Indians?

Karan Brar, 22, Kamalpreet Singh, 22, and Karanpreet Singh, 28, have been arrested for Nijjar's murder. Because the names of these three start with the initial K, they are being called the K group. All of them are Indians, who were living in Edmonton, Canada.

These accused had reached Canada in the year 2021 on a temporary visa. Some of them had student visas but none studied in Canada. A case of murder and criminal conspiracy has been registered against these three. All of them will be presented in the court of Vancouver, British Columbia on Monday.

Connection of the accused with Lawrence Bishnoi gang?

The arrested accused are said to have connections with the criminal syndicate of Haryana and Punjab, which is the gang of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Canadian Police have also accused the Lawrence Bishnoi gang of being behind the murder of Khalistani terrorist Sukhdul alias Sukha Dunuke. Aaj Tak/India Today had revealed only after Sukha's murder that Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar had Sukha murdered in Canada.

Police say that an investigation is still going on whether the Indian government is involved in this or not. After the murder of Nijjar, every citizen of Canada was feeling unsafe. Citizens have the right to live safely without any fear.
Global News quoted sources as saying that Nijjar's murder may be linked to the Bishnoi gang. This gang is linked to drugs, extortion and murder.

Shinder Purewal, a political science professor at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University of Surrey, Canada, said that Lawrence Bishnoi has been in jail since 2014 but he runs the gang from jail itself. Lawrence does anything for money. According to an estimate, there are 700 gunmen in his gang. His gunmen are also in Canada, from where his gang is very active.

The Trudeau government of Canada has become more vocal about the interests of Sikhs in the last few years. According to the 2021 census, the total population of Canada is 3 crore 70 lakhs. Four percent of the total population here i.e. about 16 lakh Canadians are of Indian origin. At the same time, about 7 lakh 70 thousand are only Sikhs.

According to the census, the population of Sikhs in Canada has doubled in the last 20 years. Most of these Sikhs have migrated from Punjab. In such a situation, this Sikh community is a significant vote bank of the Trudeau government.

India's Foreign Minister Jaishankar said on Trudeau's allegations that whatever is happening in Canada on the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar is mostly due to their internal politics and has nothing to do with India. Jaishankar said this while answering the question of why Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is criticizing India.

Jaishankar said that a section of pro-Khalistan people are using Canada's democracy, creating a lobby and becoming a vote bank. In Canada, the ruling party does not have a majority in Parliament and some parties are dependent on pro-Khalistan leaders. We have persuaded them many times not to grant visas, legality or political space to people who are creating problems for them (Canada), us and our relations. But the Canadian government has not done anything.

He said that Canada has not provided any evidence. They do not share any evidence with us in some cases, police agencies also do not cooperate with us. In Canada, it is their political compulsion to blame India. As elections are approaching in Canada, they have got involved in vote bank politics.

One special thing is that Khalistan supporters are allies of the Trudeau government. Khalistani supporter and New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh's party is also an ally of the Tudo government. This is also one of the reasons why Justin Trudeau does not take the risk of taking action against the Khalistanis.

Trudeau had accused India of killing Najjar

Last year, while speaking in Parliament, Justin Trudeau had blamed India for the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. After this, diplomatic tension increased between India and Canada. Since then, relations between India and Canada have been full of ups and downs. India had also accused Trudeau and his party of doing vote bank politics to woo Khalistanis.

In January this year, former Canadian National Security Advisor Jody Thomas had said that India was cooperating with Canada in the investigation of Nijjar's murder.

Najjar was murdered last year

In June last year, Najjar was shot dead outside a Gurudwara in Surrey, Canada. Nijjar was a Khalistani terrorist. Was the chief of the Khalistan Tiger Force. He was living in Canada for the last several years and was fueling Khalistani terrorism against India from there.

According to intelligence sources, Nijjar had become an even bigger headache for Indian investigative agencies in the last one year because he had started providing logistics and money abroad to the operatives of Lawrence Bishnthe Oi gang.

When Trudeau visited India in 2018. At that time, the then Chief Minister of Punjab Amarinder Singh had handed him a list of Khalistani terrorists, in which Nijjar's name was also included. The Union Home Ministry had declared Nijjar a terrorist in 2020. In 2010, an FIR was registered against him in the bomb blast outside a temple in Patiala. The police were looking forward in many cases including inciting violence and promoting terrorist activities.

India had declared Hardeep Singh Nijjar as a designated terrorist. NIA had also declared a reward of Rs 10 lakh on him.
