Uttar Pradesh will establish 24-hour operation of exclusive female-only transport throughout the state leading to greater protection and empowerment for women. Uttar Pradesh government started a 24/7 women-only transport service on February 2, 2025 to advance security and transportation options for female residents throughout the state. The initiative assures women a safe and affordable transportation solution that serves late-working employees as well as individuals who need to move through dangerous areas. The service deploys its operations first at Lucknow followed by Agra and Varanasi before reaching additional locations. 

Service Features: 

The women-only transport service will provide bus transportation, taxi service and autorickshaw service with installed GPS trackers along with surveillance cameras and emergency contact buttons while ensuring safety measures for its users. The service will offer feminine driving personnel as well as low fares to let all socioeconomic classes of women utilize it. 

Empowerment and Safety: 

The state maintains this initiative within a campaign to enhance women's protection and empowerment throughout the state. The government intends to offer secure transportation access to education and employment opportunities for women in order to support their professional pursuits. Women’s employment will receive a boost through the newly created female driver positions.
