Kanpur. Councillors and Bajrang Dal workers created a ruckus on Saturday night in protest against the opening of a new meat shop in Safed Colony. It is alleged that when the shopkeeper asked them to close the shop, a person from the shopkeeper's side scuffled with the worker and showed him a chopper.
The force of Kidwai Nagar police station arrived and tried to convince the people. Later, after talking to the higher officials, the shop was closed. Police also took one person to the police station. Police remained deployed till late night fearing that the situation might deteriorate. Councillor of Ward No. 38, Hariswaroop Tiwari aka Nikku, said that eight to ten meat shops are open illegally in his ward, which he has been opposing for a long time.
Bajrang Dal created ruckus by protesting
Another meat shop opened near the intersection of Safed Colony Kuan. He had also complained about this to the Police Commissioner, but the shop was not closed. On this, he called Bajrang Dal workers including Vishal Bajrangi on Saturday. On request to close the shop, a person scuffled with the worker and showed him a chopper. On this, the workers protested and created a ruckus.
Kidwai Nagar police station chief Bahadur Singh said that protest was raised against the meat shop and the shop has been closed.
