Uttar Pradesh Government directed ₹3,000 crore to fight pollution which has been worsening in Lucknow along with Kanpur and Noida. The government launched the initiative on February 3, 2025 to enhance air quality through clean energy projects combined with better waste management alongside EV promotion. Air purifiers will be installed while urban green spaces will be developed using this funding at the same time. 

Key Initiatives: 

The state will cut vehicle emissions through financial benefits for electric vehicle purchases and establishing infrastructure for electric vehicle charging. Urban areas will receive substantial support from funds that will fund the establishment of green parkland systems to both decrease pollution and enhance air quality. The state plans to use budgeted capital to purchase air filter systems that will be installed in schools and hospitals and public buildings.
