Baghpat.   For the sake of false pride, a BA student was kidnapped and killed by beating him with bricks and sticks. The student's mother has filed a case against ten people including the girl's parents, maternal uncle and cousin. The accused have admitted to kidnapping and killing the student.

In the complaint lodged at Baghpat police station, the mother of 20-year-old Himanshu Sharma of Delhi said that on Saturday afternoon Himanshu was kidnapped by the father of a neighbouring girl, four relatives and four unknown people. At around 10:30 pm, the girl's mother called her and told her that Himanshu is in Pabla Begumabad village of Baghpat. This is the girl's maternal grandmother's house.

The victim reached there with her relatives and the girl's mother. They started taking Himanshu, who was lying unconscious, to the hospital. When they found a PCR vehicle on the way, they told them the whole matter. The police arrested the girl's maternal uncle Sohanpal and cousin Akash from the spot. Himanshu was declared dead in the district hospital.

Murder done as per the complete plan

Student Himanshu Sharma's murder has been done as per a plan. According to the police, first they tried to call Himanshu by chatting from the girl's mobile. When Himanshu did not come, a video call was made with the girl. As soon as Himanshu reached the mentioned place, the accused put him in the car and took him to Pabla Begumabad, where they beat him brutally and killed him.

According to Himanshu's uncle Anil Sharma, resident of Kartar Nagar Chautha Pushta Suraj Street No. 1, House No. J-44, Himanshu left home on Saturday afternoon at around 2 pm saying that he was going to a birthday party. When he did not return home till night, he was searched for, but he was not found anywhere.

At around 10:30 pm, a woman from the neighbourhood called Himanshu's mother Rajni Sharma to her house and informed her that Himanshu has been taken to village Pabla Begumabad. Do not complain to the police. Himanshu will be returned to you. The woman along with her son took them to the jungle of Pabla, where Himanshu was found unconscious in a car.

While taking him to Baghpat hospital, a police vehicle was found on the way. Police personnel were informed about the incident. When he was taken to the district hospital, doctors declared Himanshu dead.

The intention was to scare Himanshu, he died

The accused told the police that their intention was to scare Himanshu by beating him so that he would not harass the teenager, but Himanshu died.

Himanshu was the only son

Himanshu was the only son of his parents. His younger sister is Jiya Sharma. His father Sushil has been missing for a long time.

Honor killing has been done before

This is not the first incident of honour killing in the district. One and a half years ago, a couple in love was murdered in village Asara. Before this, many incidents of honour killing have taken place in many places including Dhanaura village, Shabga, Bawali, Barot town of Doghat police station area.
