Two policemen were killed and one injured in an attack by unknown assailants in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. The attack took place in Darban Kalan, bordering South Waziristan.

 

After carrying out the incident, the unidentified attackers managed to escape. The police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Groups that have split from the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban are quite active in the Darban area and have often targeted security forces.

 

270 terrorists killed

  • According to eyewitnesses, the Taliban often take over the roads of the district in the evening and start checking vehicles. According to an official report released on Monday, security forces killed 270 terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2024.
  • This included several big militants on whom rewards were declared. According to the data released by the provincial police department, 802 suspects have been arrested during the operation against terrorism.
  • Also, the conviction rate has increased from 13 percent to 38. At the same time, attacks against security forces have also increased. This year 149 policemen were killed, while 232 were injured.

Conflict growing on the border

The conflict between the Pakistani army and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is increasing in the areas bordering Afghanistan. According to Afghan media reports, TTP has captured Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

 

Actually, TTP camps in Afghanistan were targeted by Pakistani fighter jets. Since then, TTP has waged a war against Pakistan. TTP fighters also tried to cross the border, but the Pakistani army foiled it.
