New Delhi: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has made a claim about Google CEO Sundar Pichai. He said, Google CEO Sundar Pichai called him to appreciate his recent visit to McDonald's.
"I visited McDonald's last week and I got a really nice call from Sundar (Pichai)," Donald Trump said during his appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast. "He said, 'This is the biggest thing that's happened to us in years.'"
'One of the greatest things ever done on Google'
Trump further said, "Sundar is a very great person, and he said to me, 'This McDonald's thing, I want to tell you, it's one of the greatest things ever on Google. That's what he said just hit me,'" Trump says.
The former president's visit to McDonald's in Pennsylvania was not just a campaign trip but a strategic move aimed at undermining his rival Vice President Kamala Harris. Quipping that she now worked "15 minutes more" at the fast-food chain than him, Trump also referred to her time there when she was young.
Has Kamala Harris worked at McDonald's?
Trump further said, "Kamala Harris lied about McDonald's. I worked here for 15 minutes. Does this prove she never worked at McDonald's? Well, McDonald's has no information about her working there. The manager said she never worked there."
At an event hosted by the Economic Club of Chicago on October 15, Trump told Bloomberg News editor-in-chief John Micklethwait that he had recently contacted "the head of Google" to express his concerns about research results linked to his name.
What did Trump say to Pichai?
"I've been getting a lot of good stories lately, but you don't find them on Google," Trump told Pichai. "I think it's a totally rigged deal. I think Google is rigged just like our government is rigged." They only have bad stories. In other words, if I have 20 good stories and 20 bad stories, and everybody deserves that, you'll only see the 20 bad stories."
