New Delhi. The fast of Masik Durgashtami is considered very auspicious in Hinduism. This day is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga. According to the Hindu calendar, it is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Shukla Paksha every month. This time this fast (Masik Durgashtami 2024) will be observed on Friday, June 4, 2024 i.e. today. Monthly Durgashtami 2024 Puja Vidhi

• Get up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
• Clean the house and temple thoroughly.
• Prepare Halwa, Puri and Gram Prasad.
• Perform the ritual of anointing the Goddess.
• Apply tilak of roli, turmeric and kumkum on them.
• Light a lamp in front of Goddess Durga.
• Offer a garland of hibiscus flowers.
• Apart from this, offer flowers, sweet betel leaf, dry fruits and 5 types of seasonal fruits.
• Make sure to offer cosmetics to the Goddess.
• Recite Durga Saptashati along with the armor, argala, keelak of Mata Rani.
• Also chant Vedic mantras of Mata Rani.
• Finally, after Durga Chalisa, perform a grand Aarti of the Goddess.
• Break your fast the next day with satvik food.
