Portuguese explorer Tristao da Cunha discovered an archipelago in 1506, which is a different kind of world across the seven seas, and it is very beautiful. Due to the remote location and harsh weather, this island remained uninhabited for many centuries and even today the population of this island is only 234. The name of this island is Tristan da Cunha. It is about 2,787 km away from Cape Town in South Africa and is located isolated in the South Atlantic Ocean. This group of volcanic islands is surrounded by sea on all sides, reaching here will make you feel as if you have come to heaven. The island had 250 permanent residents with British Overseas Territories citizenship until 2018 and now only 234 people live here, according to the information received. Being a British Overseas Territory, Tristan da Cunha also has its own constitution, however, there is no airstrip on the main island and you can only come here by boat. To reach here, one has to travel six days from South Africa. Tristan da Cunha itself is a volcanic island, with a prominent volcanic peak. It is called Queen Mary Peak. It is said that British soldiers lived on Tristan da Cunha to prevent the escape of Napoleon Bonaparte from St. Helena. Being an uninhabited island, the island has unique flora and fauna and the place is considered a paradise for wildlife lovers and researchers. Unique plant species such as megaherbs are found here.
