A shocking incident has come to light from Odisha's Balangir district. Where a teacher was forced to come to school despite being ill. The teacher alleged that he was denied leave, due to which he had to go to school after being given saline.

He had asked for leave due to ill health

Prakash Bhoi, a mathematics teacher at Bhainsa Adarsh Vidyalaya, had applied for leave due to ill health after attending his grandfather's funeral. But the school's in-charge principal Bijayalakshmi Pradhan did not approve his leave and directed him to approach the office of the District Education Officer and DPC.

Bhoi said that when he reached the DPC office, his condition worsened around 12 noon. He asked for permission to go to the hospital, but the principal, without caring about his health, asked if he could return by 2 pm.

'Madam did not allow me to go'

"The government hospital was far away, and I did not have money to go to a private hospital, nor was my UPI working. So without getting treatment, I returned to the office and worked till late in the evening. Despite repeated requests, madam did not allow me to go," Bhoi said.

Even after taking medicine at night, Bhoi's condition did not improve. He again asked the principal for leave, but he refused and said that it was necessary to come to school to prepare for the exam. Out of helplessness, he decided to go to school after getting saline from the doctor, as his health was very bad. When Bhoi reached school, his colleagues immediately sent him to the hospital after seeing his condition.

Bhoi alleged that this is not the first time this has happened to him. He said, "Other teachers get leave easily, but in my case I am mentally harassed." This case highlights the insensitivity of the officials in the education department. Will strict action be taken against the guilty in this case? This will be known only after investigation.
