A horrific road accident took place in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. A car collided with a bus carrying pilgrims on Sunday morning. Four members of the family, including a newly married couple travelling in the car, died in this accident. 

The accident happened on the Punalur-Muvattupuzha state highway

According to police, the accident occurred on the Punalur-Muvattupuzha state highway at around 5 am. Locals said the passengers of the car were rescued from the damaged vehicle. Police said three people died on the spot and one died while being taken to the hospital. 

No one on the bus was hurt

It is being told that the car collided with the bus. The bus was carrying Sabarimala pilgrims from Telangana. No passenger on the bus was injured. 

The accident happened just 10 kilometers away from home

Initial investigations revealed that the newlywed couple, who got married last month, was returning home from their honeymoon in Malaysia. Police said the accident occurred just 10 km from the victims' home. A case has been registered. 

The accident happened while returning home from the airport

After marriage, the couple went to Malaysia for their honeymoon before going to their workplace in Canada. After returning home with sweet memories of their honeymoon, they were returning home from the airport with their loved ones when this accident happened.

The wedding took place on November 30

The couple got married on November 30. The accident took place just 10 km away from their house. Nikhil's father Mathai Eapen and Anu's father Biju P George also died in the accident. The Maruti Swift car in which they were travelling collided with a bus carrying Sabarimala pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh. The car was completely damaged.
