Jerusalem: After claiming the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, Israel released a video footage filmed from a drone. In this video footage, he is allegedly seen sitting in an injured condition in a house destroyed by a bomb in Palestine. Israel is seeing this as a big victory because Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7 attack, is seen injured and helpless in the video. At the same time, Iran compared Sinwar's last moments with the death of Saddam Hussein and presented Saddam as 'coward' and Sinwar as 'brave'.

Sinwar's speech went viral on social media

However, people in many Arab and Muslim-majority countries seem to have a completely different opinion of Israel. They see in this dusty, blurry video a brave man who fought till the end and was martyred. Along with this video, some excerpts from Sinwar's speech are also going viral on social media, in which he said that he would prefer to die fighting on the battlefield. Osama Gavish, an Egyptian journalist, wrote on social media, 'By releasing the video of the last moments of Yahya Sinwar's life, the occupying Israel has made his life bigger than his killers.'

Mixed reactions to Sinwar in Gaza

Let us tell you that there is a mixed reaction to Sinwar's death in Gaza. Some people were seen mourning Sinwar's death, while some heaved a sigh of relief and hoped that now the terrible battle that started after the attack on Israel on 7 October 2023 will come to an end. It is said that Sinwar had instructed Hamas to attack Israel. Three days after Sinwar's death, the Israeli army left leaflets in southern Gaza. These leaflets showed another picture of Sinwar, in which he was allegedly lying dead on a chair, his finger was cut and blood was flowing from his head.

'Sinwar was killed while running away in fear'

The leaflets dropped by Israel read, "Sinwar ruined your life. He hid in a dark place and was killed while running away in fear." Sadiq Abu Amer, chief of the Istanbul-based think tank Palestinian Dialogue Group, said, "I don't think any great Palestinian leader was killed fighting like Sinwar." Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh died in a hotel room in Iran, while Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Lebanon's Hezbollah group, died after dozens of big bomb blasts in an underground bunker. Unlike these two, Sinwar died while fighting the Israeli army.

'Saddam was pleading despite having weapons'

Iran, the main supporter of Hamas, went a step further and compared Sinwar's death to the death of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, considered Iran's arch enemy. A statement issued by Iran's UN mission said that Saddam was dragged out of an underground bunker and 'he was pleading despite being armed. On the other hand, Sinwar died fighting the enemy.' Let us tell you that Saddam Hussein, the Sunni ruler of Shia-dominated Iraq, had once attacked Iran and caused a lot of damage to it.
