News Topical, Digital Desk : Gorakhpur News: Guru Purnima, the holy festival that establishes the Guru-disciple relationship in Sanatan philosophy and culture, is special for Gorakshapeeth. This is the occasion when the Gorakshapeethadhiswar worships and praises his previous Gurus of the Peeth including Adiguru Mahayogi Gorakhnath of Nath sect and thereafter blesses his disciples and devotees of Gorakshapeeth with affection. Taking forward this tradition of Gorakshapeeth, the current Peethadheeshwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be seen in both the roles of disciple and Guru on Guru Purnima on Thursday, July 10.

Although the auspicious sound of religion and spirituality reverberates day and night in Gorakhpeeth, Gorakhnath temple, but the festival of Guru Purnima is very special here. The devotees of Gorakhpeeth are very eager to participate in the special event of this day. Nathpanth is mainly a Guru-Gamya path. In this respect, there is an unbreakable bond between Gorakhpeeth and Guru Purnima. Guru-disciple tradition is at the root of this Peeth. Nath tradition has progressed from Guru tradition. This is the reason why Gorakhpeeth is renowned all over the world as a symbol of Guru tradition. By maintaining this tradition in every era, the Peeth has paved the way for welfare. When Lord Gorakhnath, the incarnation of Shiva, made yoga a medium of public welfare, then the sages of Nathpanth, who followed him, accelerated the public welfare campaign.

Digvijaynath Maharaj considered education to be a powerful medium.
In following the public welfare works of the Guru tradition, the past and the recent three generations of Gorakhpeeth are seen creating records. Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath Maharaj, the architect of the present form of Gorakhnath temple, made education the most powerful medium for public welfare and established Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad in 1932. The noble-minded Brahmalin Mahant ji also donated two of his colleges for the establishment of Gorakhpur University. During his time, an Ayurvedic medical center was also established in the temple premises to provide harmless and easily available medical facilities to the people. These projects started by his Guru were expanded by his disciple Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath Maharaj in his time. All the projects of education, medicine, yoga and service were given a new dimension.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, disciple of late Mahant Avedyanath Maharaj and the current Gorakshapeethadhiswar, has made the sapling planted by his grandfather and nurtured by his Guru into a Banyan tree for public welfare. The education project that started in a rented room has expanded to dozens of institutions as well as a university. Guru Shri Gorakshanath Hospital, run by Gorakshapeeth for treatment, is famous in the entire Purvanchal. The spread of yoga has gained momentum from Gorakshapeeth. The success of the mantra of public welfare found in the Guru tradition of the Peeth is also visible in Yogi Adityanath's role as Chief Minister.

CM Yogi will worship Mahayogi Gorakhnath,
this is the reason why Guru Purnima festival has special significance for the Gorakhnath temple. On the holy festival of Guru Purnima, Gorakshapeethadhiswar Yogi Adityanath will offer his respects to the gurus of the Nath sect by performing a special worship of Mahayogi Gorakhnath on Thursday. There is also a tradition of offering roti to Shiva avatar Guru Gorakhnath on this festival. After completing the ceremonial programs, the Gorakshapeethadhiswar will bless his disciples and the followers of Gorakshapeeth. On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, there will also be a culmination of the Shri Ram Katha going on at the Gorakhnath temple from July 4.

On Thursday, the day of Guru Purnima, the process of Guru Pujan will start early in the morning at Gorakhnath temple. Gorakshapeethadhiswar will first worship Guru Gorakshanath with full rituals in the morning. He will offer roti to him.
