New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear on Monday the case related to the death of three civil service aspirants at a coaching centre in the national capital. According to the list uploaded on the Supreme Court website, a bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan will hear the case.

Three civil service aspirants drowned when the basement of Rao IAS Study Circle in Old Rajendra Nagar in Delhi was flooded following heavy rains on July 27 this year. On September 20, the apex court had directed the central government-appointed committee probing the matter to submit an interim report on the steps to be taken to prevent recurrence of such incidents.

The death of three students had shocked everyone

Let us tell you that the death of three students including two girl students due to waterlogging in Rao Coaching Center in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi had shocked everyone. The IAS aspirants died due to drowning when rainwater filled the library running in the basement of the coaching center. Many students trapped before them were rescued.

Because of this the basement got filled with water

The coaching centre was being run in the basement. If any student came, a biometric system was installed on the glass door for attendance and the students used to put their thumb impression there. It was told that at around 7 in the evening, due to some big vehicles taking a U-turn on the road outside the coaching centre, the glass door on the stairs going to the basement broke due to the pressure of water, due to which water started flowing into the basement.

The basement was filled with water in a few seconds

The flow of water was so fast that a lot of water accumulated in the basement in a few minutes. The students started coming out of the basement in a hurry. During that time, the electricity went off due to a short circuit. Two girl students and one boy student got trapped inside in the accident, due to which they died.

Deceased students identified

All the three deceased were Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants who were studying at Rau IAS Coaching Institute. The three victims have been identified as Shreya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar (UP) in Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana and Nivin Dalvin from Ernakulam in Kerala. Delhi Police got the bodies post-mortem done at RML Hospital and handed them over to the families.
