Taipei. China is not giving up its habits. Chinese aircraft and ships have once again been detected around Taiwan. According to Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense, six Chinese naval ships, four coast guard ships and two military aircraft have been detected around the country between 6 am Saturday and 6 am Sunday. 

Violation of the straight center line

According to the MND, two PLA aircraft violated the Taiwan Strait median line of the country's air defence identification zone (ADIZ) in the northern region. In retaliation, Taiwan responded by monitoring PLA activity with aircraft, naval ships and coastal-based missile systems.

Let us tell you that China has been using the gray zone strategy more frequently since September 2020. At the same time, the number of military aircraft and naval ships is gradually increasing in the area around Taiwan. 

Tension between China and Taiwan

Tensions between China and Taiwan are at an all-time high. Despite never ruling Taiwan, China's ruling Communist Party considers it part of its territory and has threatened to conquer it by force if necessary.

Earlier on May 27, the Chinese Foreign Ministry strongly opposed the recent visit of US lawmakers to Taiwan. Amid the visit of US lawmakers to Taiwan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said that Beijing firmly opposes military contact between the US and Taiwan as well as any attempt to arm Taiwan.
